This Pink Was Chosen!

I was emailing with Chrissy, our event and banquet coordinator for Hizon's catering the other day. I was asking about the specifics of our wedding reception. Like, what type of linens and table of cloth do they use or what colors of linens do they have.

I initially wanted our reception to be all white! White table cloths, white linen accompanied by white calla lilies. Then to break the monotony, I will just add pink and purple cupcakes from Ate Lala and Ate Jiji in the center of each table or where the napkins will be placed.

I was so resigned with this idea... and then it hit me. Why do I really like all white? So I thinked hard for the reason why I wanted white, and here are some of them:
  • because I didn't want to have other colors to clash with the dresses of my entourage
  • because I don't know what type of cloth Hizon's use for the linens
  • because I'm afraid the reception will look like a debutant's ball
  • because, because, because
So, I really pressed Chrissy and asked her to give me a sample of pink linen that they use in receptions. Low and behold, she sent me pictures of what it will look like and I instantly fell in love with the idea and the color and the cloth!!!

The type of linen they use is organza. I love the way this pink appeared even in picture! Even how the way the ribbon was tied was nice! I fell in love with the idea and I immediately said to Chrissy that this was the color pink to use.

I will not clash with my entourage gowns because their type of pink is lighter that this one. Also, this will give the tables life! then, our white calla lilies will be more seen with this color.

I'm so excited to see the actual linen during our next Philippines vacation in July or August!

Our Wedding Emcee

If you ask me, the emcee or host for a wedding reception is the only things that carries the entire program of the reception. For example, if your emcee is not lively, chances are your visitors and guests will not pay attention to the wedding reception program that you tirelessly made. If your emcee on the other hand is happy and on-the-go, not only will the guests remember your wedding but all the different parts as well.

I was very happy when I finally got to talk to Virma Magbanua. She was our chosen wedding reception emcee. Part of the Oasis package that we got is the wedding reception emcee. this was a very big relief for us because finding a reception emcee is not an easy task.

At least, another bullet is already checked for our wedding list. I am very excited to meet Virma for an initial planning of our wedding reception program.

Cute Wedding Bears

Well, so far we have no updates about our wedding preparations. We've been very busy with work lately that we set aside the wedding planning first.

So, I'm just sharing with you the cute wedding groom and bride bears that Nicole and Teddy gave us.

Aren't they cute?

I was thinking of making these bears as our wedding cake topper but it might clash with the wedding cake design that Ate Jiji and Ate Lala will make.

So that's it for now. I hope we can add more achievements to our wedding planning!

Exactly 9 Months To Go: Florist Booked!

My heart gave a leap when I saw our DaisyPath wedding countdown. It read 9 months before your wedding!

I cannot believe it! We've been planning for our wedding since the day Doms proposed to me. I think that was October 2009. At that time, our wedding seemed so far away. Now, it's less than a year already! How time really flies!

Anyway, I am really happy that even if our wedding is fast approaching already, we are still able to do some updates about it. For instance, we just got our florist.

168 Flower Co. is one of our 2 choices for our wedding flowers. They were highly recommended by other couples from W@W. I emailed them and Mich readily replied. She offered me their 4-Leaf Bridal Package. My family also liked their creations. It was really cool because she presented her proposal in a PDF with images of actual flowers and samples of bouquets. So, we were able to get a look of what they can offer. I love the way they arrange their flowers! They mix up all the colors of our wedding and it turned out to look nice.

My bouquet consists of pink peonies, fuschia roses and other colorful blooms. The entourage flowers seems to look gorgeous!

I am really happy that we were able to book them. Aside from having the right mix of what we want, they are in our budget.

Caricature Atbp.

I was never really a fan of caricatures. I admire people who does caricatures but the output doesn't appeal too much for me. Caricatures exaggerates facial features of people.

But all of these "pang-aalingans" dissolved when I visited Graphizar's Website.

The famous Graphizar is composed of Noel and Krisel Izar. They have various works in their website that made want to get them. They also do Save the Date cards, invitation layouts and other stuff. I initially thought that asking someone to do a caricature of yourself is expensive. But I was proven wrong when I checked their rates.

I immediately asked my dad to deposit the payment for our caricature to be done. Last night, they replied and asked me information about our caricature. Below is my reply to their email. Haha, Doms laughed when he read my description. For me, I just want to make everything clear before they start doing our caricatures.

I haven't decided yet on where to put our finshed products but I was thinking of using it for STDs. I hope everything goes well! Let's wait 3 weeks before we get our caricatures!

Hello,

Here's a short background about us. My husband is a photographer and I'm a writer. We are both working here in Singapore. We have a wedding blog titled "The Writer and the Photographer". My name is Dindin and my husband is Doms.

For our caricature, we like sana for Doms to have a camera around his neck and for me to have a pen na may feathers sa dulo sa aking kamay (please see caricature feather pen attached image).

For Doms caricature, please use the caricature doms attached image and for me use caricature dindin or caricature dindin 2.

For the caricature position, si Doms naka-front view with a camera around his neck with his arms around me while me, naka-lean sa kanya at naka side view tapos yung feet ko naka taas sa likod. Just like the position of Tanya sa Melvin and Tanya caricature na gawa nyo with me holding the feather pen.

For Doms attire, he likes wearing jeans and shirt with sneakers as for me, naka dress nalang na color pink. I like wearing a headband pala kaya I hope you can add that.

For the background, wala pakong maisip in particular... Pero siguro parang naka-patong nalang kame sa earth na bilog... Hahaha... or pwedeng naka-hawak nalang si Doms or naka sandal sa isang malaking musical note... Hahaha...

Ang color motif po namin is purple and pink... Tapos for the text, just write:

The Writer and the Photographer's Wedding
Dindin and Doms
15th January 2011, 10:00am
Mt. Carmel / Oasis Pavilion

Ayun lang po... I hope malinaw... Just email me back kung may questions.
Now that I'm reading what I wrote to them, I'm laughing my eyes out! Hahaha..

Measuring, Fitting, Seeing, Riding

Ok for my latest Pinas vacation, I was able to accomplish just one major thing for our wedding. Actually, make it 2 major things...

The first one was the measurement taking of Ate Bern. Since Ate Bern will be back here in Manila a week before my wedding, we decided to have her measurement taken already. Concha explained to her the style of her gown. My sister didn't like the initial design from the sketches that Concha made so they discussed the design and they agreed upon the outcome. I'm really excited about the gowns of my entourage!

Second accomplishment during my "blip" vacation was my gown fitting! Of course not the actual gown but the lining of my actual gown! i can really feel it!!! Even if it's just plain lining, I can imagine my whole gown already... I can't wait to see the output of the gown!!!

One thing more, for my dad's 60th birthday, the whole family checked-in at Discovery Suites, Ortigas. I was able to do an occular inspection of the hotel and so far, I liked it for the wedding. We are considering of getting two 2-bedroom suites for Me and Doms' family. But, I am still looking for other options because I think I like Astoria more.

Anyway, we also got the services of Fly to Manila Condo and Car rentals on our trip to The Farm in Nueva Ecija. We rented the Ford Everest and I can imagine my family having this car for my wedding. I'm thinking of getting the ford everest for my mom, dad and LA, the Urvan for Doms' family and the Fortuner for my bridal car... Coolness!

So that's it for now! I am still in a big serach for our florist and band entertainment for our wedding.
